One of the highlights (scientifically speaking) of my profession is attending the somewhat smaller meetings where you can interact with colleagues and learn about new discoveries, treatments, and methodologies in a narrowly focused symposium. Two terrific meetings for those of us with an interest in prostate cancer are the GU Symposium jointly sponsored by ASCO, SUO, and ASTRO, and the Prostate Cancer Foundation annual meeting. Between these two meetings, the density of scientific advancement is really inspiring. I hope to bring you some updates from my own perspective over the next few days as I try to write notes and digest all that is going on this year in prostate cancer research.
